Papad Salad Recipe

Ingredients

  • 2 plain papad, (available in Indian grocery stores)
  • 2 medium tomatoes, seeded and diced very small to make a approx. 1cup
  • 1/2 English or deseeded cucumber, cut in very small pieces to make it about ½ cup
  • 2 tablespoons cilantro finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon ginger finely shredded, optional
  • 1 green chili finely chopped, optional
  • ½ lemon
  • 2 teaspoon oil

Instruction

  1. Mix tomatoes, cucumbers, cilantro, ginger, and green chili, set aside
  2. Lightly oil the papads from both sides, set aside.
  3. Preheat the skillet over medium high heat. Roast the papads on both sides in the skillet one at a time, pressing with spatula. The papads will change to a light yellow with a few brown spots. Be careful not to over-roast. Fold the Papads in quarters while they are hot, making triangles right on the skillet.
  4. Remove the papads from the skillet and break on the folds, creating four triangles from each one.
  5. Take one piece of papad and top it with cucumber, tomato, ginger, green chili, and cilantro.
  6. Drizzle with lemon juice.

 

Dhokla Recipe In Telugu

Ingredients

  • 1 Cup Gram Flour
  • 3/4th Cup Curd
  • 2-3 Green Chillies
  • 1 tbsp Ginger Garlic Crush
  • 1 tsp Sugar
  • Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Soda

For Tadka

  • 2-3 tbsp Oil
  • 1 tsp Mustard Seeds
  • 20-25 Curry Leaves
  • Coriander Leaves
  • 1/2 Cup Water
  • 2 tbsp Sugar

Instruction

  1. In a bowl add gram flour and curd. Mix everything well and let it ferment for 4-5 hours.
  2. Then add green chilies, ginger garlic crush, sugar, salt, and soda. Mix everything well.
  3. Pour this mixture into a greased aluminum tray/plate.
  4. Let it steam for 25 minutes.
  5. Once the dhokla is cooked, remove it from the steam and apply little oil and water on its surface.
  6. For the task heat some oil.
  7. Add mustard seeds and curry leaves. Let it crackle. Switch off the flame and then add coriander leaves. Give a stir.
  8. Allow the tadka to cool down.
  9. Then add water and sugar to the tadka.
  10. Again put the tadka to boil. Let the sugar melt.
  11. Pour this tadka on the dhokla as required.
  12. Garnish the Dhokla with coriander leaves and grated coconut.

 

Tomato, Cucumber, and Onion Salad Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 large cucumbers (English cucumber or a standard cucumber), thinly sliced and cut in quarters
  • 4 roma tomatoes, sliced and cut in squares
  • 1/2 Vidalia onion, very thinly sliced
  • 1-2 tablespoon of chopped fresh parsley
  • 1-2 tablespoon of chopped fresh chives
  • 1/2 cup of cider vinegar
  • 1/2 a cup of olive oil
  • 1/2 a cup of sugar (optional)
  • salt and freshly ground pepper

Instruction

  1. In a large serving bowl, toss together the bite size chopped cucumbers, tomatoes, and onions
  2. In a small bowl add vinegar, olive oil, salt and pepper to taste. Stir the ingredients.
  3. Pour dressing over the salad. Mix everything together.
  4. Let the salad stand for at least 20 minutes before serving.
  5. Add chopped chives and parsley.
  6. You might want to double check to see if there needs to be a little more sugar, salt or pepper for taste.
  7. Serve the cucumber salad as a side dish in a small bowl.

Tip: For a milder flavor, soak the chopped onions in salt water for 20 minutes before you mix it with the rest of the salad.

Ingredients:

For Pasta Premix

  • 1 tbsp Cashew powder
  • 1 tbsp Melon seeds powder
  • 3 tbsp Milk powder
  • 1 tbsp Onion powder
    1 tsp Garlic powder
  • 1 ½ tbsp Tomato powder
  • 1 ½ tsp Cheese powder
  • 1 tsp Chilli Flakes
  • 1 tsp Corn Flour
  • 1 tsp Castor Sugar
  • 1 ½ tsp Mixed Italian Herb
  • Salt to taste
  • Red Food Color (Optional)

For Pasta

  • Pasta Premix
  • 1 cup Milk
  • 1 cup Water
  • 1 tsp Butter
  • 1 cup(100-150 gms) of mixed Vegetables (Boiled Baby Corn, Mushroom & Raw Bell peppers)
  • 100-150 grams Boiled Pasta

Instructions

For Pasta Premix

  1. In a bowl add cashew powder, melon seeds powder, milk powder, mix well.
  2. Add onion powder, garlic powder, mix well.
  3. Add tomato powder, cheese powder, chilli flakes, corn flour, sugar, mix well.
  4. Add mixed Italian herb, salt, red color, mix well.

For Pasta

  1. Add milk, water to the premix, mix well.
  2. Heat a pan add butter, vegetables and saute them.
  3. Add the premix to it and mix well.
  4. Give it a boil, add pasta and mix well.
  5. Let it cook for 2 minutes and our pasta is ready.

Delicious Homemade Flan

Ingredients

For the pudding

  • 395g sweetened condense milk
  • 395g water
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 tsp vannilla essence
  • pich of salt

For the Caramel syrup

  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup water

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 320 degrees. Spray a oven safe dish with cooking oil and set it aside.
  2. Beat up 3 eggs and set it aside.
  3. In a small saucepan add in the sugar and water and cook over medium heat. Bring it to boil but DO NOT stir as it can crystallized the sugar.
  4. Syrup mixture will change it’s colour from white, golden to amber colour. Remove it immediately from the heat when it becomes in between golden and amber colour. Pour the syrup to prepared oven dish.
  5. In another saucepan add in the condensed milk and water. Heat it over medium heat until it’s just under boiling point. Remove it from the heat.
    Add in salt and vanilla essence.
  6. Now its time to warm up the eggs before adding it in to the condense milk mixture. take a big spoonful of heated condense milk mixture and add it to the eggs slowly while continue to mix. Then you can slowly add the eggs in to the heated condense milk mixture. Remember to keep mixing while adding the eggs.
  7. By now the caramel syrup should be hard in texture. Pour the prepared mixture in to the oven safe dish on top of the caramel syrup.
  8. Place the dish in another oven safe dish (bigger in size) and fill it with boiling water until halfway.
  9. Bake it in the oven to 35 to 40 minutes or until the centre is lightly set.
  10. Chill it in the fridge at least 3 to 4 hours before serving.

TIP FOR SERVING:

Cut it in to desired slices, flip the slice upside down so the top part will be dark gold in colour. Pour some syrup over the slice.
